Who We Are
Chichipunta Conservation Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the long-term protection of the Yunguilla cloud forest in Ecuador. Through proactive conservation, scientific research, and immersive education, we work to anticipate ecological threats and build resilience in one of the world’s most biodiverse and imperiled ecosystems.
Current Projects
Wildfire Prevention & Response
Wildfires are an increasing threat to the cloud forest. We work with the local community to both prevent fires before they ignite and to fight them with a rapid response brigade.
Erosion & Infrastructure
On steep mountain slopes, erosion threatens both people and forests. We are working to stabilize roads and trails,restore native vegetation, and design nature-based solutions that protect the land and those who depend on it.
Volunteer Opportunities
Conservation thrives when people come together. Volunteers join us in hands-on projects such as reforestation, trail maintenance, monitoring wildlife, and sharing in the daily life of both the forest and the community.
